Help and FAQ
AutoNavlog is a computational aid. Independently verify every number before flight.
How do I paste a ForeFlight route?
On the Route step, paste the ForeFlight or ICAO string (airports, fixes, and airways). IFR airway designators expand to every published fix. Use 4-letter ICAO identifiers for airports (for example KDAB, KPIE).
Where do I find winds aloft?
On the Winds step, click Fetch AWC winds aloft to pre-fill direction and speed from the NWS Aviation Weather Center FD table, interpolated to your planned cruise altitude. You must still verify those numbers against the official AWC FD/GFA product (or ForeFlight) before flight. Time Off (UTC) is required so clock ETAs match a paper navlog.
How do I read the printed navlog?
- TC / MC — true course and magnetic course
- WCA / TH / MH — wind correction, true heading, magnetic heading
- GS / ETE — ground speed and estimated time enroute
- Fuel — planned burn for the leg; remaining fuel is shown in time when fuel on board is entered
- ETA — clock time from Time Off, not a running stopwatch
Can I print or save a PDF?
On Results, use Print / Save PDF. The print stylesheet is landscape paper-navlog format.
What aircraft is supported?
Launch tables are Cessna 172S POH climb, cruise, takeoff, and landing. Other aircraft remain a later addition.
