Checkride navlog prep
Programs that require a paper navlog expect you to explain the form, not just hand over an EFB screenshot.
Bring a form that looks like theirs
Two blocks: Wind & Heading, then Route/Time. TH is visible. Variation is West-positive on the page. ETA is clock time from Time Off. Print landscape and leave actuals blank.
Be ready to defend the first two legs
If you time from takeoff, the first row is departure → TOC at climb speed, not cruise TAS. TOC sits between those rows. A DPE who sees cruise GS on an 8 NM climb leg will stop you there.
Show the interpolation
Use Show Work on Parameters. Climb and cruise use linear interpolation between POH bands. Climb GPH is fuel-used ÷ time, not a memorized 12 GPH.
Say what the computer did not do
No MEA/MCA, no compass card, no certified weather briefing. You verified winds on the AWC product, variation on the chart, and distances against the plotter or GPS. AutoNavlog is a computational aid only — see the Aviation Disclaimer.
