Cookie Notice
Last modified: October 12, 2026 · Version 1.1
This Cookie Notice explains how AutoNavlog, LLC ("AutoNavlog," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the autonavlog.com website and any other website that we own or control and which posts or links to this Cookie Notice (collectively, the "Sites").
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies serve different purposes, like helping us understand how a site is being used, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your browsing experience.
Our Sites may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer or mobile device until you delete them).
We use two broad categories of cookies: (1) first-party cookies, served directly by us to your computer or mobile device, which we use to recognize your computer or mobile device when it revisits our Sites; and (2) third-party cookies, which are served by service providers or business partners on our Sites, and can be used by these parties to recognize your computer or mobile device when it visits other websites. Third-party cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, including site analytics, advertising, and social media features.
What types of cookies and similar tracking technologies do we use on the Sites?
On the Sites, we use cookies and other tracking technologies in the categories described in the table below. We do not use advertising cookies or social media cookies.
| Type | Description | Who serves the cookies | How to control them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | These cookies and storage items are necessary to allow the technical operation of our services (e.g., they keep you signed in, protect our backend from bots and abuse, and record your cookie preference). Firebase Authentication keeps your sign-in session in browser storage (IndexedDB and localStorage), not in a cookie. Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, used through Firebase App Check, may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie to distinguish humans from bots. We store your cookie choice in an_consent and an_consent_ver. |
AutoNavlog (first party); Google — Firebase Authentication, Firebase App Check, and reCAPTCHA Enterprise (Google Privacy Policy; Firebase privacy) | These items cannot be switched off while using the Sites. You can clear them through your browser settings, but you will be signed out and some features may stop working. |
| Analytics | These cookies help us understand how our services are performing and being used, including which pages are visited, which features are used, how long sessions last, and approximate (city/region-level) location. We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-0GTM6ZQ1TD), which sets the _ga and _ga_G-0GTM6ZQ1TD cookies. Analytics is on by default. You can opt out through Cookie Settings or by broadcasting a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not send emails containing web beacons. |
Google LLC — Google Analytics (Google Privacy Policy; How Google uses data from sites that use its services) | Use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer (or the button below) to accept or decline analytics at any time. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. |
| Functionality / performance | These items enhance the performance and functionality of our services. We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember onboarding progress (autonavlog_onboarding), map style and overlays (navlogRouteMapStyle, navlogRouteMapOverlays), the inputs you were working on, a pending-upgrade flag during checkout (navlogPendingUpgrade), and a throttle for the Suggestions form (navlogSuggestionsThrottle). A service worker caches static assets so the app loads faster and works offline. These items do not track you across websites. |
AutoNavlog (first party) | Clear your browser's site data for autonavlog.com. Doing so resets your preferences and any unsaved inputs. |
| Error monitoring | If enabled, Sentry records error messages, stack traces, and the application state at the time of an error so we can diagnose and fix problems. Sentry does not set cookies on our Sites; it stores a short-lived session identifier in memory only. | Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) (Sentry Privacy Policy) | Error monitoring is part of operating the service and cannot be switched off individually. Browser content blockers that block sentry.io will prevent reports from being sent. |
Loading the Sites also causes your browser to request fonts, scripts, and map tiles from third-party content delivery networks and data providers (Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg, OpenFreeMap, Esri/ArcGIS Online, and Google Cloud Storage). These requests disclose your IP address and the resource requested to the provider but do not set cookies on our Sites.
Other technologies
In addition to cookies, our Sites may use other technologies, such as browser web storage, to collect information automatically.
Browser web storage
We use browser web storage (including localStorage and IndexedDB via HTML5), also known as locally stored objects ("LSOs"), for similar purposes as cookies. Browser web storage enables the storage of a larger amount of data than cookies. We use it to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, and to preserve the navlog inputs you are working on between visits. Your web browser may provide functionality to clear your browser web storage.
Service workers
Our Sites register a service worker that caches static assets (such as scripts, styles, and fonts) in your browser so that pages load faster and continue to work when you are offline. The service worker does not collect or transmit information about you.
Web beacons
We do not currently use web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs) on our Sites or in our emails. Account-related emails (such as email verification and password reset) are sent by Firebase Authentication and do not contain tracking pixels.
Session-replay technologies
We do not use session-replay technologies that record your clicks, mouse movements, scrolls, or keystrokes.
Your choices
Your options for controlling what information cookies and similar technologies collect about you include:
- Cookie Settings. Analytics cookies are on by default. You can change that preference when you first visit via the cookie notice, or at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the site footer or the button below. Essential cookies and storage are required for the Sites to work and cannot be turned off while you use the Sites.
- Do Not Sell or Share / state opt-outs. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents and residents of other states with similar privacy laws can still opt out of analytics cookies using Cookie Settings, or submit a request as described in the State privacy rights notice.
- Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") browser signal as a valid opt-out request under California law and other applicable state privacy laws. If your browser sends a GPC signal, analytics stays off on that browser unless you later explicitly turn it on through Cookie Settings. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
- Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. Please note that if you set your browser to disable cookies or site data, the Sites may not work properly. For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. If you do not accept our cookies, you may experience some inconvenience in your use of our Sites. For example, we may not be able to recognize your computer or mobile device and you may need to log in every time you visit our Sites.
- Blocking images/clear gifs. Most browsers and devices allow you to configure your device to prevent images from loading. To do this, follow the instructions in your particular browser or device settings.
- Third-party opt-out option. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Industry association opt-outs. We do not serve interest-based advertising on our Sites. If you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising generally, you may do so through members of the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org or the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info. You may opt out of receiving targeted advertising in mobile apps through participating members of the Digital Advertising Alliance by installing the AppChoices mobile app, available at youradchoices.com/appchoices.
You will need to apply these settings on each device and browser from which you wish to limit the use of your information.
For more information about how we collect, use, and share your information, see our Privacy Policy.
Changes
Information about the cookies we use may be updated from time to time, so please check back on a regular basis for any changes. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last modified" date above and may ask you to review your cookie preference again.
