Terms of Service
Effective date: September 16, 2026 · Version 1.0
AutoNavlog is a computational aid only. It is not certified flight planning software, not an official FAA resource, and must not be used as the sole basis for any flight decision. Output data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or stale. The Pilot in Command is solely responsible for all preflight planning and in-flight decisions. See our full Aviation Disclaimer.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and AutoNavlog, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("AutoNavlog," "we," "our," or "us"). They govern your access to and use of the AutoNavlog website and navigation-log calculation service (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, clicking "I agree," or otherwise accessing the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
AutoNavlog provides an online tool that assists pilots in generating navigation logs ("navlogs") for VFR and IFR flight planning by computing estimated headings, times, fuel burns, and related data from user-provided inputs including route waypoints, aircraft performance data, and wind information.
The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a certified aeronautical information system, not approved by the FAA or any aviation authority, and not a substitute for official preflight planning using current NOTAMs, weather services, and FAA-approved navigation data.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is intended for use by pilots and student pilots who understand that it is a computational aid only and who take independent responsibility for all flight decisions.
3. Account Registration
You may use the Service as a guest (anonymous user) with limited functionality. To access features such as saving navigation logs and route data, you must create an account using an email address and password or your Google account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly at autonavlog@gmail.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
At account creation, you must acknowledge the Aviation Disclaimer and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We record the timestamp and version of your acceptance.
4. Subscription Plans and Billing
Free / Basic plan. Signing up is free. Basic accounts can use core navlog calculation, IFR airway expansion, and may contribute route and performance data to the shared cache.
Pro plan. Pro is a paid subscription providing additional features including saved navigation logs, crowdsourced route lookup, aircraft performance auto-fill, airport information, and the interactive route map. Pricing is displayed on the Stripe checkout page.
Billing. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the "Manage billing" link in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer prorated refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
Refunds. If the Service has a material technical failure that prevents you from accessing Pro features for more than 72 consecutive hours, contact us for a prorated credit. We do not offer refunds for change of mind after the subscription period has started, except as required by applicable law.
5. Aviation Safety — Limitation on Permitted Use
You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- AutoNavlog output is a computational estimate only. Actual flight conditions, aircraft performance, winds, magnetic variation, and airspace restrictions may differ materially from computed values.
- You will independently verify all output against current official sources (e.g., current METAR/TAF, official sectional charts, current aircraft POH/AFM, NOTAMs, and FSS briefing) before any flight.
- The Pilot in Command is solely responsible for all preflight planning decisions and in-flight decisions, regardless of what AutoNavlog shows.
- AutoNavlog is not approved or endorsed by the FAA, Transport Canada, EASA, or any aviation authority.
- You will not use AutoNavlog as the primary or sole navigation aid during flight. It is a pre-flight planning aid only.
Full details are in our Aviation Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. User-Generated Content and Crowdsourced Data
By using the save feature, you may contribute route strings and aircraft performance data to AutoNavlog's shared crowd-sourced cache. By doing so, you:
- Grant AutoNavlog a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, aggregate, display, and use that data to improve the Service and assist other users.
- Represent that the data is from your own flight planning and does not include confidential or proprietary third-party information.
- Understand that contributed data is anonymized and cannot be individually retracted from the aggregate cache once merged.
AutoNavlog reserves the right to remove or correct contributed data that is clearly erroneous or abusive.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service in bulk
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated performance data to the crowdsourced cache
- Use the Service to plan or conduct any flight in willful disregard of applicable aviation regulations
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, navigation algorithms, and content (excluding crowdsourced user data and publicly available FAA data), is owned by AutoNavlog, LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial flight planning. No other rights are granted.
9. Disclaimers of Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. AUTONAVLOG DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. COMPUTED NAVLOG DATA MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AUTONAVLOG, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOST PROFITS, OR DATA LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE — EVEN IF AUTONAVLOG HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL AUTONAVLOG'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO AUTONAVLOG IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100.00).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AutoNavlog, LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate your account at any time. You may close your account through the account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access without notice for violation of these Terms or any applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be submitted to informal negotiation by emailing autonavlog@gmail.com. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules, conducted in English, with a single arbitrator, in Delaware or via videoconference. The arbitrator's award is final and may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. CLASS ACTION WAIVER: You waive any right to bring or participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will notify you via email (if you have an account) or a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Aviation Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and AutoNavlog regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. AutoNavlog's failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
